Proofreading

If you’re like most designers, you work in a pretty hectic environment. You’re constantly switching between projects to meet the demands of your clients. Your attention is also pulled in many directions as you respond to phone calls and emails. Amidst all this activity, you need to create attractive designs for discerning clients and carefully prepare files for printing!

At Springfield Printing, we understand the pressures under which designers work. That’s why we’re constantly searching for solutions that make your lives a little less hectic – and make doing business with us a little easier.

One way we help you out is by proofreading every project we receive as part of our service to you. This comprehensive analysis of your project can save you a great deal of time, money and aggravation by reducing costly changes later in the production cycle. Here’s how this process works at Springfield Printing:

Once we receive your files, they’re placed in our Rampage electronic workflow system. We then output laser proofs that are read by our experienced, dedicated proofreader. This process is much more in-depth than a spell-check program; the proofreader reads every page of every project for spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, tone and clarity.

The proofreader then marks any errors or questions directly on the proof. These comments are also summarized on the proof sheet that accompanies the laser proof we send you, which allows you to quickly and easily find and change any errors.

The Springfield Printing Advantage
Why do we offer this service to you? Quite simply, we want to be sure your projects are completely accurate once plates are created and the project gets to our press. By helping you check your projects for the little things that are often overlooked, we hope to make your life a little easier and less stressful.

• Proofreading is conducted at the initial proofing stage, where changes are easy and inexpensive to make. If these errors are not found until just before the project goes to press, the impact on your schedule and budget would be considerable.

• Our proofreader is dedicated only to that task, ensuring a thorough and accurate proofreading of every project that comes in.

• This service is performed at NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU. It’s just another way we try to make your life easier and let you concentrate on creating the most attractive and useful products for your application.
