While you may not think of packing and delivery as part of the print production process, they're as important as ink and paper selection to the success of a project. If sufficient packing and delivery details aren't communicated early in the planning process, deadlines may be missed as completed projects await further instructions. At Springfield Printing, we put as much care into these important steps as we do into our printing. That's why we direct our efforts toward minimizing "transit marking" - the scuffing and marking that results from the friction between printed materials. To ensure safe handling and successful delivery of your important projects, here are a few planning tips to keep in mind: Provide plenty of details - Be sure to let us know all the details about how you want your completed projects packed and shipped, such as the quantity per box or carton, complete destination information, and the location of the receiving dock or office. This is particularly important if projects will be delivered to multiple locations, which may have different procedures and requirements for receiving your materials. Protect Your Products - At Springfield Printing, we help protect your printed products in several ways. We carefully pack each box or carton with filler material to minimize movement. Aqueous coatings, varnishes and film lamination can also be applied to further protect the surfaces of printed materials to reduce transit marking.
Shrink wrapping is another solution that provides protection during transit. It also makes shipping and distribution much more convenient for many applications. If you plan to distribute your materials in small batches, it may be helpful to have us shrink wrap them in your specified quantity. This helps reduce handling on your end while offering substantial protection. A Word about Delivery Options The Springfield Printing Advantage |
